The period of independence began with the overthrow of the Spanish governor in 1810 and finished with the exile of the liberating republican leader Bernardo O’Higgins in 1823. These years were marked both by governing problems of the newly independent leaders and their numerous battles against those loyal to the Spanish crown who briefly regained control of the territory before ultimately being defeated. Once independence was definitevly achieved, a period of organization of the Chilean state followed between 1823 and 1830. This era witnessed three different governments and two constitutions.

Caribbean Sea, of the western Atlantic Ocean, lying between latitudes  on 9° and 22° N and longitudes 89° and 60° W. It is approximately 2,753,000 square km in extent. To the south it is bounded with the coasts of Venezuela, Colombia, and Panama on west by Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, and the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico to the north by the Greater Antilles islands  including on  Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico east by the north-south chain of the Lesser Antilles, consisting of the island arc that extends from the Virgin Islands in the northeast to Trinidad, off the Venezuelan coast, in the southeast. Within the boundaries of the Caribbean , Jamaica, south of Cuba, is the largest number of islands.

Dominican Republic


Dominican Republic remain on the world as the costal  country of the West Indies  whose  occupies the eastern two-thirds of Hispaniola &  the second largest island  with the Great of Antilles chain  on  the Caribbean Sea. Haiti, also an independent republic, occupies the western third in the island. The Dominican Republic’s shores are washed by the Caribbean to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the north. Between the eastern tip of the island and Puerto Rico flows the Mona Passage,  the channel about 80 miles wide. Then  The Turks and Caicos Islands are located some 90 miles to the north, also Colombia lies about 300 miles to the south. The republic’s area which includes such as   same  islands   Saona, Beata, and Catalina, is severaly  about half   size of Portugal. Geologic origins

Deep, easily crumbled, and rich in base minerals, some of those dark soils have been farmed continuously tomany centuries. However, overuse has caused serious sheet erosion and has exposed tepetate in many areas. In the north, gray-brown desert soils occupied the largest expanses. High in lime & soluble salts, they can be extremely productive when irrigated.

Mexico has a wide array of climatic conditions because of its topographic diversity. More than half of the country lies south in the Tropic  Cancer. In those areas, tropical maritime air masses from the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean, and the Pacific, are attracted by the relative low pressures which occur in land. The maritime air masses are the main sources of precipitation, which is heaviest  may through August.
