Raising war dafination

 According to the statistics  war, contributors debated  between the issues of the established church & uses of coercion against neutrals and Loyalists, the meaning of Paine's "Common Sense" ,the confusion of Loyalist property. Much attention was devoted to the details of military campaigns.Patriot editors often sharply criticized government action or inaction. In peaceera, criticism might be leaded to a loss of valuable printing contract. But in wartime, the government needed the newspapers. Moreover, there were enough different state governments and political factions that editors could be protected . When Thomas Paine lost his patronage job with Congress because of  letter he published, the state government soon hired him.

Newspapers flourished in the new republic  by 1800 people, there were about 234 being published &tended very partisan about the form of the new federal government, which was shaped by successive Federalist . Newspapers meted  much abuse toward various politicians.Eventually  , Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr was fueled Between  by controversy of newspaper pages.Washington tells  partisans Federalist poster about 1800 to keep the pillars of Federalism, Republicanism, and Democracy.

Both parties sponsored national networks of weekly newspaper by 1796s which attacked each other vehemently. The Federalist and Republican newspapers of the 1790s traded  barbs against their enemies.
