Muckrakers was a  investigative journalist, in sponsored by large magazines who investigated political corruption as well as misdeeds by corporations
Sporending , attracte  with middle-class audience  on the Progressive Era.Especially, in  the 1900s, such as major magazines in Collier's , Munsey's Magazine and McClure's Magazine sponsored  for  own  nation audience by1902 –-1912. The January 1903 issues  in McClure's marked the beginning  part of muckraking journalism  while the muckrakers would get their label . Ida M. President Roosevelt enjoyed  close relationships with the press, which he used to keep  for his  daily contact with his middle-class  one. He made a living as a writer and magazine editor. He loved talking with intellectual s & authors and writers. However,He drew the line at expose-oriented scandal who during his term set magazine subscriptions soaring  with the  right  their attacks on corrupt politicians & corporations. Roosevelt himself was not a target, but his speech in 1906 coined "muckraker" for unscrupulous journalists making wild charges
Investigative journalism came back into fashion as tyhe field on Starting in the 1960s . At the  Nears  level, the alternating press movement emerged.Newspapers like The Village Voice in New York City as well as the Phoenix in Boston ,political magazines like Mother Jones .

Professionalization

problem.Pulitzer gave Columbia University $2 million in 1912 to made  a school of journalism  where   a leadership status well into the 21st century. Freedom of the press, Becomeing well-established legal principle, although President Theodore Roosevelt tried  on major papers for reporting corruption  in Panama Canal rights. The federal court threw out the lawsuit, ending  attempt by the federal government on newspapers for libel since the days  Sedition act  on 1798-1801.
